Kitchen Must-Haves

In all the time I’ve been cooking, I’ve tried and tested many kitchen appliances, gadgets, spices and more. I have my favorites and want to share them with you. These are must-haves in my book and I recommend each one 100%.

KitchenAid Artisan Stand Mixer

When I first purchased mine, I was in heaven and I wondered why it took me so long to splurge on one. This is the main workhorse of my kitchen and you’ll see why as you read on. I love how this machine works and it takes my efficiency to a new level. Plus, with having arthritis in my hands, I don’t have to worry about kneading dough because this appliance does it all for me. There is a color to compliment any kitchen. Mine is “Gloss Cinnamon” which is now discontinued so it makes it hard for me to find matching pieces. As you can see, I also have the matching blender.

Mealthy 6 qt. MultiPot

Folks, this one is new for me having just received it May 2019. I’m an instant fan! It pressure cooks, it slow cooks, it sautes, it steams…. it’s your new best friend.  I have the 6 qt size (it comes in 8 qt too) and is now coming out with an attachment to make it an air fryer!!!!  Stay tuned!

KitchenAid Food Processor Attachment

This gem is the perfect accompaniment to the stand mixer. This does almost all the things a countertop food processor does plus one more that I use again and again; it chops. They are not big chunks, but this cuts down on all the hand chopping you have to do if you’re making a clam chowder or chili. This has saved me not only time chopping, but saved my hands from aching all day after a mountain of chopping. Hands down (no pun intended), this is a must have for the kitchen.

KitchenAid 7 Cup Food Processor

This is also a must have. You’re probably wondering why I have two. Well, there is a reason. This one has the processing blade that the attachment does not. Plus, if you’re doing a lot of chopping, slicing and processing  having both allows you to multitask. I used this recently for a cheesy dip recipe and it chopped everything so well the cheese melted perfectly!

KitchenAid Pasta Attachments with 6 Different Attachments, Pasta Extruder and Ravioli Maker

KitchenAid Pasta

I am so fortunate to work where I do. When I hit my 10 year anniversary at my company, they gave me ALL (and yes, I mean all) of the KitchenAid pasta attachments.  I am just in heaven with these! There is nothing like fresh pasta. Even though fresh pasta takes time to make, it’s well worth the effort. Plus, the mixer kneads my dough for me, then the pasta rollers and cutters do the rest. Again, my hands thank me every time.

FoodSaver Vacuum Sealing System

Food Saver

The ads say that this item will help you save money since you can keep food fresher in the freezer longer. Yep, I agree with this. Since I like to purchase meats from Costco in bulk, this is a handy and essential item. I can break up those large packages into smaller portions for two. No waste at all here and when I’m ready to cook, I just defrost the meat and it’s as good as the day I bought it.

KitchenAid 2-Speed Hand Blender

Kitchen Aid Hand

You’re probably sensing a theme here…. Yes, I am a loyal KitchenAid consumer. I love their products so when it was time to replace my old immersion blender, I obviously gravitated toward my favorite brand. This one is great for making sauces and even creamy soups right on the stovetop in the pan.

Cuisinart 3-In-1 6-Quart Slow Cooker

13-Bean Turkey Chili that is just what you need for game day this year. It simmers in the slow cooker to perfection. Lori's Culinary Creations
I bought this just after Thanksgiving when I dropped my old one and the ceramic shattered all over the tile floor. It was tragic! Then I found this on Amazon and fell in love. It browns, it steams and it slow cooks on high, low, simmer & warm. You can’t go wrong with this kitchen tool.

Pampered Chef Ultimate Mandoline

Pampered Chef

Great for shredding cheese and making super thin cuts of tomato. I’ve had mine for years since they last forever. Just be careful because the blade is sharp. I swear, you can cut rocks with it.

SodaStream

Lori's Culinary Creations Must Have Kitchen Items

I don’t drink sugary sodas these days but still like a sparkle in my drink. This one allows me to carbonate water and I can add fruit juice or other flavors if I want to kick it up a notch. This is also great to make sparkling summer drinks that are light and refreshing. The SodaStream has it’s own reusable bottles which also helps the environment. Double score!

An Adorable Apron by Flirty Aprons

I love these guys and I have several of their aprons. There is one for every season as well as every occasion. You can even purchase a matching set with your little chef so you can cook together. I bought a set for me and my granddaughter.

Platinum Professional Cookware

Finally it’s important to have a good set of cookware. Not only does it last longer, but a good set of pots and pans allow for more efficient and even cooking. I found these at the Salt Lake Home Show fall of 2015 and they are by far one of the best investments I made. Yes, they are more expensive, but I feel they are so worth it and my food tastes amazing (if I do say so myself).

There you have it… all the kitchen items you need to make your adventures in cooking fun and efficient. If you have any questions on any of these items, drop me a line or comment below.
