So, it’s dinner time. You’re in the kitchen. What do you make?
My motto has always been this:
Today is life-the only life you are sure of. Make the most of today. Get interested in something. Shake yourself awake. Develop a hobby. Let the winds of enthusiasm sweep through you. Live today with gusto.
I take that attitude into the kitchen. I write Lori’s Culinary Creations to provide delicious adventurous recipes for empty nesters and busy working adults.
You have a time crunch? I have an easy weeknight recipe for you! Simple fish recipes are perfect for busy weeknights.
Whatever your challenge, I can help you create something fabulous with fresh, healthy ingredients. We empty nesters don’t need to worry if the kids don’t eat their vegetables!
I enjoy creating new recipes and thinking “outside the cookbook.” And, will share with you THE kitchen essentials all cooks must have.

I grew up in California, and I currently live near Salt Lake City, Utah with a menagerie of pets (dogs, cats, chickens). The mountain air and surrounding beauty are refreshing!
I started my kitchen adventure after a couple of trips to Europe where I experienced new foods, new flavors and a whole lot of inspiration. Growing up, my mom HATED to cook! To her it was kitchen drudgery and to this day, avoids it as much as possible. She thinks I have some weird gene from out of nowhere that has created the love of cooking in me.
When I’m not in the kitchen covered in flour or some sauce (I’m not a tidy cook), I work full time at a bank as an executive assistant to the president. Talk about a polar opposite from the kitchen! I also enjoy playing in my garden, harvesting fresh veggies and hanging out with my chickens. Fresh eggs are amazing!
It’s a pretty busy life but I wouldn’t trade it for anything!
