So, it’s dinner time. You’re in the kitchen. What do you make?
My motto has always been this:
Today is life-the only life you are sure of. Make the most of today. Get interested in something. Shake yourself awake. Develop a hobby. Let the winds of enthusiasm sweep through you. Live today with gusto.
I take that attitude into the kitchen. I write Lori’s Culinary Creations to provide delicious adventurous recipes for empty nesters and busy working adults. You have a time crunch? I have an easy weeknight recipe for you! You feel like stretching your skills? Let me help you with a Beef Wellington recipe or even a Greek Pastitsio. Whatever your challenge, I can help you create something fabulous with fresh, healthy ingredients. We empty nesters don’t need to worry if the kids don’t eat their vegetables!
I enjoy creating new recipes and thinking “outside the cookbook.” I will share easy (and sometimes complicated) recipes, show you tips and tricks for easier cooking and have put together a “must have” page for essential kitchen gadgets and appliances.
Check out some of my most popular posts that others have raved about, from a delicious Fiesta Corn on the Cob, to my favorite copy cat recipe Crab & Shrimp Stuffed Salmon. If you are looking for a true adventure, try some of my recipes from the Crazy Ingredient Challenge, where our group makes a recipe from two unique ingredients not normally found together. Some all time favorites are the Avocado Kiwi Ice Cream, Grilled Steaks with Pineapple Rosemary Topping and Sweet Potato Burger with Roasted Jalapeno.

I grew up in California, and I currently live near Salt Lake City, Utah with my husband and our menagerie of pets (dogs, bird, cats, chickens). I started my kitchen adventure after a couple of trips to Europe where I experienced new foods, new flavors and a whole lot of inspiration. Growing up, my mom HATED to cook! To her it was kitchen drudgery and to this day, avoids it as much as possible. She thinks I have some weird gene from out of nowhere that has created the love of cooking in me.
When I’m not in the kitchen covered in flour or some sauce (I’m not a tidy cook), I work full time at a bank as an executive assistant to the president. Talk about a polar opposite from the kitchen! I also enjoy playing in my garden, harvesting fresh veggies and hanging out with my chickens. Fresh eggs are amazing!
It’s a pretty busy life but I wouldn’t trade it for anything!
