If you’re new here then a warm welcome to you too! Here you’ll find a fun party with lots of recipes to check out and you’ll find something yummy to put on your dinner table tonight. This past weekend was a foodie paradise and I’m featuring unique recipes this week in honor of my past weekend.
Last weekend I attended Everything Food Conference. This is my fourth year and I have no idea how they manage to keep getting better and better. There are classes, food, networking, food, sponsors and did I mention food?
One of my favorite parts this year was the “Dinner Around Town.” This was a new event and hands down, very popular. Several of the sponsors hosted a dinner out to a local restaurant or to the culinary school creating a special menu for each event.
Where did I go for dinner? Who sponsored it? Give me the details!
I attended the dinner sponsored by California Ripe Olives. This event was chosen because I have never met an olive I didn’t like and we were told the chef at the selected restaurant would prepare a special menu featuring olives.
The restaurant selected was Table X. Its located in an old building south of Salt Lake and the interior has a clean and open feel. Their recipes feature fresh ingredients they grow themselves in raised bed gardens behind the restaurant. How cool is that?
The food that was sure to tickle my tastebuds
The items on the menu… oh my goodness! They included:
- California Ripe Olive Amuse Bouche appetizer
- Buratta salad with olive cracker
- Main dish options of leg of lamb or vegetable steak. Each had a green ripe olive rosemary rub and accompanied by toasted farro and asparagus. I chose the vegetable steak.
But the topper was the dessert; olive oil cake with black olive ice cream & caramelized mandarin oranges. It totally worked!
