Wrapping up the year with the top 10 recipes that were your favorites in 2107.
Appetizers and One Skillet Meals dominated the top 10 recipes this year. And no wonder. Talk about fun food to make! Appetizers go with parties and who doesn’t love a party especially during the holiday season? And one skillet? Easy clean up! You can’t beat that with a giant stick!
So, let’s get started.
I’m going to start with my #1 recipe this year rather than start with #10 and count down the top 10 recipes. I’ll save the countdown to New Years Eve when the ball drops. All I can say is that the top 10 recipes were an amazing bunch and it gives me ideas on what to bring more of to you in 2018.
Coming in at #1 is my Springtime Wrapped Brie with Cherries. This was a favorite of mine as well….. delicious, warm, gooey brie wrapped up in fluffy flaky pastry dough with the added bonus of chopped cherries. No wonder it was #1.
#2 was right behind it with a Mexican Pasta Salad with Roasted Corn and Tomatoes, a smash hit at a family taco bar dinner.
What was #3? It was an appetizer for any occasion, Creamy Chicken Party Dip. I know why it was so popular – It only has 4 ingredients and is a “mix it and go” recipe.
#4 Spicy Stuffed Jalapeno Poppers. A sure winner, my family gobbled them up at a summer cookout. The best part? You can make them ahead of time so less time in the kitchen and more time with family and friends.
#5 on the top 10 recipes list were my Vegetarian Black Bean Taco Boats.. I’m glad these were in the top 10 since Mexican style food is an all time favorite.
#6 Pineapple Sweet Potato Rice. One of the Crazy Ingredient Challenge recipes this year, this one was sweet & sour side dish goodness!
Coming in at #7 is another chilly temp dish – Stove Top Vegetarian Chili with Cornbread. I’ve made this one a few times this year. Fall and winter time are my favorite seasons to chow down on a big bowl of chili.
Check out #8, another one skillet wonder – One Skillet Pork Chops with Spinach and Havarti. Using fresh spinach and creamy havarti cheese made pork chops shine!
#9 were these Marinated Chicken Skewers with Peppers and Onions, which is now a summertime classic. Especially for a crowd too since you can prep the skewers ahead of time which allows for more social time and less kitchen/grill time.
Rounding out the top 10 was this super simple One Skillet Caprese Chicken with Spaghetti Squash. Perfect delicate flavors make up this simple weeknight dinner.
May you have a a wonderful Holiday season and exceptional new year.
