Summer time is time for outdoor cookouts and celebrations! Try this Creamy Chicken Party Dip for your next festive occasion. It’s super simple too!
Tis the outdoor party season…. seems like every weekend we have something going on, right? The warm weather brings us all outside to barbecue and hang out the family and friends. This dip is perfect (and easy) for those get-together’s. I started with a recipe a co-worker had and added some chicken to make this a super simple party dip for all occasions.
My co-worker says this is her “go-to” dip. I believe it. She recently made it for a surprise baby shower here at the office and it was just the recipe I needed for an outdoor wine club and fireworks party last Saturday. The best part is that it’s a “mix it and go” type of recipe.
We went to the party to hang out with our wine club friends and enjoy the fireworks for Herriman Days. It’s an annual carnival and festival the city puts on and it culminates in a wickedly good display of fireworks. And, my friends house & yard backs right up to the fair grounds so there is no unobstructed view at all. It’s like her place was made for fireworks displays!
As I said, this super easy party dip only has four ingredients. It’s one of those you can mix together well ahead of time (even the night before) and have it ready to go when you need it. It couldn’t be easier. Add some festive red, white and blue chips I found at Costco, and you have your 4th of July (or any holiday) appetizer ready for your friends and family.
Creamy Chicken Party Dip
Ingredients
16 oz sour cream
16 oz cottage cheese
2 packets Hidden Valley Ranch Dip Mix
1 1/2 cans chunk chicken breast (12.5 oz cans)
Directions
Mix together, refrigerate for at least two hours, serve. BAM! You’re done!
How easy is that? One thing to note: I was told to use regular sour cream and cottage cheese so I did. My friend said she’s used the low fat version of everything and it just wasn’t the same. I have not tried it with the low fat varieties so I can’t speak to whether it’s good or not. I stuck with the regular versions and it was amazing.
Also, be sure when you get your Hidden Valley mixes you get the ones with the word “DIPS” on the front. The regular dressing packets just don’t cut it.
