This 20-minute meal is uncomplicated and delicious. Perfect recipe for busy weeknights.
What is the Tuscan way of cooking? It’s simple uncomplicated recipes made with just a few high quality ingredients and fresh tasting. With both hubby and I working full time jobs, uncomplicated recipes are welcome. So, when Bertolli asked me to come up with a Tuscan style recipe that is delicious and full of fresh flavor, I was ready to dive right in.
Francesco Bertolli opened his shop in 1865 selling only the finest cheese, olives, olive oil and wine. In 1907, he incorporated and moved his shop to Rome. He’s believed simplicity and freshness are keys to find Italian cooking and that is evident in the sauce I used for this recipe.
My kale has EXPLODED in my garden. It’s nutritious and tastes so fresh so I’ve been adding it to nearly everything from eggs to burgers. But this time with a jar of Bertolli sauce, I had a delicious weeknight meal. Kale not only provided additional flavor and nutrition, but also a nice pop of color to my plate.
This light recipes has just a few ingredients; pasta, shrimp and kale being the top three. Put it all together and you have a Tuscan inspired recipe of fresh ingredients that is so simple to make. I also used Bertolli’s Olive Oil & Garlic red sauce. This a delicate sauce perfectly seasoned and compliments this dish perfectly.
Spaghetti with Sautéed Shrimp and Kale
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
- 6 Large kale leaves (stems removed and chopped)
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 8oz large shrimp (peeled and deveined)
- 1 jar Bertolli Olive Oil & Garlic Pasta Sacue
- 8oz spaghetti (cooked to package directions)
Hubby found this to be a delicious dinner that whipped up in no time and tasted fantastic. The layers of pasta, kale, shrimp and sauce had bold fresh flavor which is perfect for us empty nesters.
