Happy Happy Monday to you! Today is the Group A reveal day for The Secret Recipe Club. I’m loving this club and have met so many fun, creative food bloggers. This has to be one of my favorite Monday’s since we all reveal our recipes at once. This month it was all about breakfast. We had not had a great waffle in awhile and thanks to Anna at Cheese with Noodles, I found a perfect one.
If you’re unfamiliar with the Secret Recipe Club here is a brief description. Each month, one member is assigned to another member from their group secretly (hence the name). That person selects a recipe to make and creates a blog post. Everyone in the group posts on the same Monday together and gets to see who had their blog and what recipe(s) they chose. And since there are four groups, each Monday of the month is a new “reveal day.”
This month, my assigned blog was Cheese with Noodles. Anna is the blogger/chef over there and has some amazing recipes. She lives in Alaska with her hubby and a menagerie of pets. I knew I’d love her right away (we have a zoo too). She loves to cook, but also likes to be crafty in her spare time. Her recipes are incredible and there is so many to check out.
I explored her recipes and was interested in breakfast recipes. I needed to shake up my rut a bit and Anna’s blog offers up a lot of options. The first that caught my eye was the Bubble Breakfast Bake. It looked amazing. There was also the Cottage Cheese Pancakes that looked really good. Hubby hates cottage cheese so I’ll make that some other time when I’m by myself. The Eggs Woodhouse was very intriguing as well with the creamed spinach and poached eggs.
I finally decided to make her Wonderful Waffle. It was the perfect recipe and I had all the ingredients in my pantry too. I didn’t alter a thing in this recipe. It doesn’t need it. The waffle is perfect just as she made it.
A waffle maker is the one kitchen tool I have resisted. I may have to succumb. Very nice!

I’m glad you liked the recipe! This is definitely our favorite waffle recipe. For some reason the cinnamon makes them perfect. I’ve made them without the cinnamon before, and they just aren’t as good. Sometimes I add a bunch more spices (allspice, nutmeg, ginger, etc) to give them a nice autumny flavor.
I’m embarrassed to admit that it was only in the past year that I finally ate waffles that didn’t come out of a freezer box. BUT they were delicious cinnamon flavoured and I couldn’t stop eating them. Now that you’ve shared this recipe, I think it’s high time for me to buy a waffle iron and make my own. SLURP.
We love waffles! I always have at least two waffle irons going when I make them, so there’s not so much waiting for the next waffle to come out. I think the cinnamon really adds something to them.

This makes me want to dig my waffle iron out again, and get it going. Great choice for SRC.
