Mujadara, a middle eastern rice side dish that goes with almost everything & is a snap to make.
Happy Happy Monday to you! Today is the Group A reveal day for The Secret Recipe Club. I love this club since I get to learn all about a new blog and discover delicious recipes. This has to be one of my favorite Monday’s since we all reveal our recipes at once. This month assignment had a ton of choices to pick from. However, this baked salmon was mouthwatering good! Read on to hear about this deliciousness.
If you’re unfamiliar with the Secret Recipe Club here is a brief description. Each month, one member is assigned to another member from their group secretly (hence the name). That person selects a recipe to make and creates a blog post. Everyone in the group posts on the same Monday together and gets to see who had their blog and what recipe(s) they chose. And since there are four groups, each Monday of the month is a new “reveal day.”
This mont, my assigned blog was Chef in Disguise. Sawsan is an orthodontist by day and a passionate food explorer at night. She is a Palestinian who is living in the United Arab Emirates after her husband got a job there. She shares authentic middle eastern recipes and also other deliciousness from around the globe. I knew my adventure in the kitchen would go to new heights with this blog.
As I begin exploring, I realized that there is more here then I could have imagined. I love trying new recipes from other cultures and this blog has everything I could want. I checked out her recipe index and started my own exploration. First, this appetizer for Spinach Feta Mini Rolls would be perfect for my next party. The Dawood Basha (Aribic meatballs) recipe is another that caught my eye. I would love it with a pile of veggies or even in a soup. Then there was the Austrian Sachertorte. Oh my heavens!! This is one amazing dessert!
After much deliberation, I decided to make the Mujadara, which is lentil rice with caramelized opinions. I needed something to go with my chicken that night and I thought this would pair with it beautifully!
