Delicious Caramelized Brussels Sprouts makes an amazing side dish for the holidays and beyond.
There was a time I would never touch a brussels sprout. Now, I can’t find enough ways to cook them. My favorite way is to roast them with bacon and I’ve made it many times. As I was making caramelized onions for a steak last week, I thought why not try this with the sprouts? And a new favorite side dish was born.
I can’t believe how much I enjoy brussels sprouts. I even tried growing them in my veggie garden this year, but the snow came hard and fast and froze my sprouts. And they were doing really well too up until then. This was my first year with the veggie garden and I learned a lot of what NOT to do as well as what was successful. I think I’m ready for next year.
These caramelized brussels sprouts turned out great. I usually don’t like to sweeten my veggies, but a little bit of brown sugar in this dish gave it just enough sweetness without being overpowering. Now hubby loves sweets very much so I had a feeling this would become favorite for him. And it did.
