Ok, this post isn’t really a recipe (although one is included), this one is more about the Platinum Professional Cookware I recently purchased at the Deseret Home Show in Salt Lake City and how freaking awesome it is. I’ve been on the lookout for some top quality cookware for a good year now and I’ve been looking high and low. Usually I’m not interested in what I’ve seen. Until two weeks ago when I discovered this wonderful cookware.
This stuff ain’t cheap. I’m not going to tell you what I paid for it, although it was well over my initial budget. But, I am going to tell you it was well worth the investment. I do believe quality is important in cookware and this one has it in spades.
Check out this video from Chef Dave on the use and versatility of the 21-piece cooking system.
The quality is definitely there. The base of the cookware is solid and holds the heat in so you don’t have to turn on the temp to Chernobyl high in order to cook your food. You start at medium high heat and go to low once it’s at the right temperature. This saves on the energy bill too. Bonus!
This is the recipe for stovetop lasagna I found on their YouTube channel. Since I’m new to the platinum world, I started out with some of their tried and true recipes and have moved on since then to my own recipes, but made the platinum way.
Stovetop Spinach & Zucchini Lasagna
- 1 jar marinara sauce
- 6-8 lasagna noodles (uncooked)
- 2 cups low fat ricotta cheese
- 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 tablespoon grated parmesan cheese
- 2 cups fresh spinach
- 1/2 Large zucchini (sliced in moon shapes)
- Additional cheese for topping
That has to be one of the easiest lasagnas I’ve made AND it only too 20 minutes instead of close to an hour. And, it was quite delicious. If you wanted to add meat, you can. Just cook it and drain off any grease first.
I’ve now been cooking with the Platinum Professional Cookware for two weeks and there is no looking back. This was just the kick start I needed to cook healthier and with fresh ingredients. I know I sound like an informercial right now but when I love something, I love it and want to tell the world about it. No, I’m not affiliated with the company nor am I making any commission if you click on the links and purchase a set. And you can’t buy it online or in retail stores, you have to contact a distributor. I’m just in love with this cookware I want to shout it from the rooftops. It indeed rocked my world.
What do you have in your kitchen that you like to shout about? Give me a shout.
