Just how many half empty bottles of dressings, sauces, marinades and condiments do you have in your fridge? My answer would be about a dozen and some just have a tiny bit or two left. I like to use different things for marinades and since we will be moving soon, it was time to clean out the fridge and use these up. For this marinade, I used just three ingredients plus two chicken breasts, but I cleared some space in the fridge at the same time AND had a delicious marinated grilled chicken to boot.
I like simple recipes especially these days with the move coming up. I don’t really want to spend hours in the kitchen conjuring up dinner when I have packing to do. And we are all busy on weeknights aren’t we? This was so easy; mix the liquids and toss them in a zip lock bag with two chicken breasts and allow it to sit at least an hour. Then they are grilled to perfection.

The marinade on this chicken was tangy, so full of flavors and spices and oh so tender. And I just HAD to cook them on the grill. I’m not quite ready to give up on grilling season so this one got cooked outdoors. Plus, you’ll find this recipe so easy that you’ll look at your condiments in the fridge and come up with endless possibilities for a marinade not only for chicken, but fish, steaks and even tofu.
So tell me… how do you use up your dressings, sauces and such? Do you make a marinade or something equally exciting? Weigh in below in the comments.
This is a brilliant idea. And, yes, I need to do this!

These look delicious, though I might have to substitute fresh garlic or garlic powder since I don’t have the sauce. Will have to triple the recipe for my hungry kids!
