Grilled Turkey Burgers with Kale

August 15, 2014

Turkey Burgers with Kale l www.lorisculinarycreations.com

“Can you add kale to it?” was hubbys question when I told him we were having turkey burgers for dinner. He has become such a huge fan of kale! Me too, but I think he’s got me beat. With him on Atkins and me on Weight Watchers, it sure does make for challenges when dinner time rolls around.  But burgers are a great “go to” meal idea that is quick and easy and covers both our diets. For my grilled turkey burgers, I added the requested kale along with chopped red onion and lots of seasoning to give these amazing flavor.

How many nights per month do you grill burgers? In the summer months it seems like nearly once a week for us. We have a lot going on during the summer as I know most of you do too. Living in Utah, we do our best to take advantage of the good weather because once the snow falls, we stay in a lot more. Hubby and I don’t ski so we don’t take much advantage of winter sports around here so we make the most of our dry and sun shiney days. Grilling outside is something we do all summer long and if we are really craving a burger when there is 10 inches of snow on the ground, I ask hubby to put on his snow boots, parka and brave the cold weather.   Did not have to this time as the weather for this burger was delightful.

Unfortunately, I must have deleted the final photo from my camera because I know I took one but for the life of me, I have no clue where it is. Since grilling season is coming to a close in a month or so, I didn’t want to wait on this recipe since you may want to try it. Just trust me when I say this; it was wonderful!!  And, hubby got his much wanted kale too. Perfect!

Yum! I might just have to try this!! I’m such a sucker for kale plus who doesn’t love a turkey burger? I’ve been *trying* to stick to paleo (not very good at that), so a kale turkey patties would be great for lunch 🙂 Thanks!!
