Easy Citrus Chili Shrimp – Only Two Steps to Make

November 27, 2013

Chili Shrimp

Holiday season is in full swing and I don’t know about you, but I’m not prepared for all the shopping, cooking, decorating and all that goes with it. Since I also work a full time job, this means that in order for me to fit it all in, I need to make dinnertime even easier during the holidays without losing my adventure in the kitchen. Enter this simple, only-takes-two-steps Citrus Chili Shrimp dinner.

Chili Shrimp

I had a bottle of Franks Red Hot Sweet Chili Sauce and found this simple recipe on their website and, with a few changes, I had dinner on the table in less then 20 minutes. Just cook up some Minute Brown rice and you have a full meal of chili shrimp and delicious rice.

Chili Shrimp
It’s always fun to have an adventure in the kitchen and this two step chili shrimp was no exception. By changing the preserves from the Orange used on the Frank’s Hot recipe to half peach and half apricot, it gave the shrimp some zip and sweetness at the same time.
With just a couple of simple steps and you have a full meal ready in no time. Now you have time to wrap presents, get some shopping done or just relax with a glass of wine and watch a holiday classic like Rudolph or Frosty.  I just love these quick and easy dinners like the citrus chili shrimp since a lot of the ingredients are already on hand so no searching for items in the pantry. And we all love easy.
You can find more recipes using Frank’s Red Hot Chili Sauce and all their products on their website’s recipe page.  If you like spicy like I do, you’ll head right on over.
