Complete Grilled Dinner – Steak, Corn and Watermelon on the Grill

September 4, 2013

GrilledDinner

As some of you know, I underwent (major) surgery last week. Recovery has been tough and painful, but I am fortunate enough to have a hubby who took three days off work to take care of my every need. We had people from church and other good friends bring us meals as well as I can’t really stand for a long time to make dinner.

But I can still orchestrate dinner, right?  This meal was completely cooked on the grill by hubby. Now, he can cook and he has a few secret recipes that are outstanding and there is no competition on those.  I can’t post those since they are his family recipes and I still want to get invited to holiday events. I respect that and won’t post them. I will however post this delicious complete grilled dinner that got him out of the kitchen and let him bring out his inner grill-master.

The ingredients are simple: 2 steaks of your choice, 3 slices of seedless watermelon, 4 slices fresh pineapple, 2 ears of corn and seasonings.

The only thing we put on the steaks was salt and pepper. That’s all that is needed. The corn was shucked and pre-buttered, had some pepper added then a splash of crisp white wine. They were then wrapped in foil.

Complete DinnerI mixed equal parts coconut oil and honey to baste the pineapple and watermelon.

Then just arrange it on the grill and cook it up! Put the corn on first, then steaks then the fruit. You don’t want to burn the fruit. I love the taste of fresh pineapple on the grill and have done this often this summer. It’s such a refreshing treat!

Clean up is a breeze. You have two plates, two forks, two knives, the cookie sheet to take it to the grill and back and foil. That is it!!  Delicious complete grilled dinner and little no clean up. Perfect for hubby!

Lori, it is very rare (as in never happens) that I pretty much universally like all the recipes on a blog. So far, yours is the rarity. This looks so good. I LOVED grilled pineapple. Watermelon? I’ll try it.

    A great looking mixed grill.
