#CrockPotMixes Review and Pot Roast Recipe

December 3, 2012

Crock Pot Roast Seasoning Packet Review

Do you just love pot roast? My mom made the best and she roasted hers in the oven. I love how the house used to smell after that roast had cooked for awhile. These days, I like to use a slow cooker to make my pot roast. I had the opportunity to try out Crock Pot’s Slow Cooker mixes and it made mom’s pot roast easy to make and just as delicious

It’s that time of year when the temperatures dip into the 30’s or 40’s and you crave some yummy soups, stews and other comfort foods. It’s when I bust out my slow cooker a lot more often then during the summer months. I had a round West Bend 4-Quart Crockery Cooker. I find it cooks very evenly and doesn’t get overly hot to the touch. If you love to cook like I do, the slow cooker is an must have essential kitchen appliance. I like the concept of “set it and forget it” and can start my meal in the morning and it’s ready to go when I get home. And, even better, less clean up!

It’s December 1st and I live in Utah so you can imagine how chilly it’s getting. Even though the snow is not falling in the valley yet, the wind was howling all day today and the air is definitely crisp. It was the perfect day for a fine pot roast with potatoes and veggies. YUM.  So, out came the slow cooker and dinner was ready to make.

I was recently sent the new Crock Pot Seasoning Mixes by Smile360 for a review. This is a new product on the market and it comes in three varieties:

  • Savory Pot Roast
  • Hearty Beef Stew
  • BBQ Pulled Pork

Each packet makes the recipe simple. You just add your meat, vegetables (for the stew and roast), or a few ingredients (for the BBQ pulled pork), place your items in the crock pot and relax. Each meal will cook in 4 hours on high or 8 hours on low. Easy peasy and a quick clean up to boot.  And I just love the ease of preparation and clean up when using the slow cooker. Mine is pictured below (and please pardon the smudge marks on it!).

That’s what I call comfort food. I’ve been searching for roast recipes and this pot roast looks perfect. I’m especially looking forward to the leftovers.. hot and cold sandwiches.

This looks delicious! Will have to try this mixture. I’ve tried the Campbell’s slow cooker and skillet sauces and they’ve been really good. Pinning. Thanks for sharing at All Things Pretty!
