Is it the 20th already? Wow, where has March gone? Since it’s the 20th, it’s also when the Crazy Ingredient Challenge recipes are revealed. So much inspiration from all the chefs! This month, the two ingredients combined to make an easy steak stir fry. Even hubby agreed, and he was a major skeptic this month. So what else is new?
I love this challenge. Each month, we have two polls and each poll has four ingredients to vote on. The winner of each poll becomes the crazy ingredients for the month. These were the winners for March: Pears and Red Pepper Flakes!!
A little sweet, a little spicy………. Loved the combo this month. This was a head scratcher again and it took me some time to find something that works. I love asian style food, so my first thought was something asian over rice. But what?
I was a the store looking for pears and I think they must be super popular right now since I couldn’t find a pear. At. All. I was going to get the typical green Bartlett but did they have them? oh heck no. Not about to drive somewhere else, I decided to use the brown Bosc variety. I had never used them, but I had never made this recipe before either.
